Kanheri Caves

These caves are the group of rock-cut monuments and caves. This is a hillside site. The caves include 108 caves carved from basalt rock. The caves are associated with Buddhism also. It means most of the caves used to be Buddhist Viharas. Buddhist Viharas are nothing but the places where Buddha people used to live, study and meditate. These caves are the precedence of well-organized livings of Buddhist Monks. If you are visiting Mumbai, this is the must-watch ancient place to visit.
